In geotechnical monitoring and structural dynamics testing, piezoelectric sensors are often the first option that comes to mind when capturing impacts, burst pressures or high-frequency vibrations. But at another site, whether the measuring range is suitable and whether the package can withstand the humid environment of long-term burial has become a real problem. Kingmach has been making monitoring instruments for so many years, and we know very well the dilemma users face when encountering these choices. Therefore, our piezoelectric sensor series does not take an extreme all-category route. Instead, we focus on typical scenarios such as earthquake early warning, foundation pit monitoring, and bridge dynamic load testing, and adjust the sensitivity and frequency response curves to fit actual working conditions. Even if the project has special requirements for installation dimensions or signal interfaces, we can do secondary development based on the standard platform and deliver a version with modified dimensions and wiring methods. Technical Detail
Kingmach's piezoelectric sensors use mature piezoelectric ceramic components, which are of the IEPE type, taking into account the anti-interference ability of long-distance signal transmission and the versatility of back-end acquisition equipment. Special attention is paid to compression preload and temperature compensation in the internal structure to avoid significant drift in the baseline caused by ambient temperature fluctuations. The shell is usually made of stainless steel, with a sealing grade of IP68. It can maintain stable output even if it is buried in saturated soil or underwater for a long time. Sensitivity typically ranges from 10 pC/g to 100 pC/g, and frequency response varies from 0.5 Hz to 10 kHz, depending on the model. These parameters are not the highest in the laboratory, but in engineering monitoring circles, everyone cares more about reliability and repeatability. Our sensors are fully calibrated and sensitivity traceable before leaving the factory, and the accompanying test reports are traceable to NIST standards. In terms of application, in addition to common structural vibration monitoring, many customers use it in pile driving hammer force measurement, tunnel blasting vibration assessment and seismic vibration stations. For bulk purchase projects, we also provide cable selection and junction box customization to reduce the probability of on-site wiring errors. Because it is shipped directly from the original factory, the response to delivery and after-sales changes is relatively fast. Overseas, spare parts can also be forwarded and repaired through local partners, eliminating the need for cross-border mailing. If there is any shortcoming, it is that in ultra-high temperature (above 200°C) working conditions, a charge output type needs to be selected and an additional charge amplifier is required, but the proportion of this application is not large.
